Wanderlust 108 Houston Gives the Typical Triathlon a Mindful Makeover

October 10, 2017 | cimgroup

Wanderlust 108 Houston is a different kind of triathlon. Instead of swimming, biking, and running, this triathlon starts with a 5K and is followed by yoga and meditation. This mindful twist on the typical triathlon is designed to attract anyone who's committed to living in a healthy way, but it's open to everyone—even if you haven't exercised in a while.

The festivities kick off at 7:30 a.m. on October 14th at the Water Works at Buffalo Bayou Park. Come and grab some coffee and get ready for the 5K. The run begins at 9 a.m., and you have about two hours to complete it before the 90-minute yoga flow kicks off at 11 a.m. Then at 12:15 p.m., wind down from your morning of exercise with 30 minutes of guided meditation. The rest of the afternoon offers opportunities to try new athletic endeavors like acro-yoga, grab a healthy and organic lunch, and check out an artisan's market. Tickets are $39 per person.
