August 9, 2017 | cimgroup
Together, the Buffalo Soldiers made history as the first group of African American men to serve in the U.S. military during peacetime. The Buffalo Soldiers National Museum pays homage to their contributions.
But it doesn't just highlight these peacetime soldiers. It also honors those who fell in the conflicts that followed many decades after the Civil War. One exhibit explores the role that successors of the Buffalo Soldiers played in World Wars I and II. Another follows the stories of African American members of the military who fought in the Cold War. One exhibit even showcases the various pieces of artillery that African American soldiers used across different centuries. Be sure to check out this important museum.
