Enjoy Tamales and Texas Barbecue at Houston’s Tamale Festival This December
November 3, 2016 | cimgroup
Fans of good food and drinks should mark their calendars for Houston’s Tamale Festival, which fills Navigation Boulevard on Saturday, December 3rd. Tamales are an authentic Mesoamerican dish that consists of a variety of savory fillings (such as meat, cheese, and jalapeños) stuffed inside a traditional corn-based dough. On December 3th, Houston celebrates this tasty creation with this annual festival. From noon to 10 p.m., festival guests can feast on tamales of all sorts in addition to Texas barbecue and classic festival fare.
The celebration also promises plenty of live entertainment, including a show from a local heavy metal mariachi band. This year, the festival debuts a circus show and craft beer garden too. General admission tickets are just $10 per person and are available online. Tickets will also be available at the festival grounds but will increase in price by $5. Be sure to check out this unique local festival!
